Registering as an MTM Partner

Migros Exchange Equipment Management (MTM) is your main contacting point and contractual partner for reusable equipment such as plastic containers or pallets. MTM coordinates and administers the reusable equipment pool, arranges reusable equipment and ensures that it is always available in sufficient quantities. For deliveries to Migros or a company belonging to the Migros Group you require EUR pallets and depending on the product additional reusable equipment of Migros. Migros Marketing or Migros Logistics Operations will decide which reusable equipment type is used.

Acceptance criteria

If you wish to use reusable equipment as a Migros supplier, you will first need to conclude an MTM Partnership Agreement.  You can register for this online easily and conveniently. Please complete the designated form and select the reusable equipment which Migros Marketing or Migros Logistics Operations have assigned to you. Then click on the “send” button at the end of the form.  As soon as your registration has reached us, we shall send you the contract documents and further information.

If you use only EUR pallets for goods traffic with Migros, an MTM Partnership is not an absolute requirement.  However, Migros Companies can require you to conclude such a partnership for logistical reasons.  We therefore advise you to apply for it in any case. Costs and Fees


The fee structure is defined in the MTM Regulations (Financial Provisions chapter). The most important points are summarized below:
  • A rental fee is charged for Migros load carriers per unit and per day. The basis for the cost calculation is the daily closing balance of the respective load carrier in myMTM.
  • A collection fee is charged for each EUR pallet upon pickup.
  • Services such as the washing of plastic containers or the machine sorting of pallets are charged separately.
  • If you wish to obtain washed containers from MTM, a separate washing agreement is required; please contact MTM for this purpose.
  • Orders for the following day that are not submitted by 7:00 a.m. will be charged as emergency orders.
  • Transport costs are borne by the recipients.
  • MTM charges an annual administration fee for account management, operation, master data maintenance and administration.
  • Billing is carried out monthly; the minimum amount for issuing an invoice is CHF 50.–.
Reusable equipment types

Matched to your product and intended application, the appropriate reusable equipment type is determined by Migros Marketing or the respective Migros logistics operation. In the document Article Types, Article Variants and Handling Units, you will find the correct type designations, article numbers and dimensions. Please note that Migros reusable equipment may only be used for the transport of goods with Migros.
myMTM Plattform

Each MTM partner has an account in our web-based management system myMTM, for which they are personally responsible. Among other things, reusable equipment is ordered through myMTM and all deliveries are recorded, including EUR pallets. Therefore, as an MTM partner, a 1:1 pallet exchange is not possible, and no pallet vouchers are issued. Access to myMTM only requires a PC with an internet connection.
